like if they're legit trying on EWC should it still be considered mickey mouse? the only problem I have is the qualifiers but then again I feel like the top 2 from stage 1 is probably the best team from that region anyway and only them is gonna win the whole thing

I mean RRQ GENG PRX and DRX are the top 4 teams from APAC, so I feel like the qualifiers done it's job
but it's rare for an offseason tourney to have all the best team itw trying to win the tourney, and imo that checks all the criteria for it to be a legit tournament, the format is still shit and obv vct internationals and even regionals still have more prestige than this
yes it is rare for off season tournaments to do that simply because other TOs dont have the money for it. this tournament started with piggybacking on the results of the actual vct split so it looked legit, but it will never be because of how closed the vct system of riot is.
it's legit, I see no reason why anyone would treat this with less importance than at least kickoff
it was a great oppurtunity but they messedup with schedules vods casting over all production was shit so now no one is taking it seriously
how can a 16 Top T1 teams tornament be mickey mouse when there is only 1 tourny every year comparable to it happens(Champs)
i wouldnt call it mickey mouse but it certainly needs refining
at this point i would give it the same amount of importance as other off season tournaments like soop or redbull homeground
it does have potential to be more though (i commented a few reasons why in another thread right before this, so take a look at my last comment)
Online qualifier, awful timing with regards to the actual vct circuit, teams not even using their actual rosters? The only way this could be more "micky mouse" is if half the teams were from challengers.
