a sentinel player who, for some reason, can’t/doesn’t play viper is a bad sentinel player
well meteor and tex didnt play viper for the entirety of last year as it was their first actual year on sentinel, yet they both still wound up being some of the most impactful players regionally and globally throughout the year. Though, this year they both have picked up viper due to most senti's being unneeded in the tejo meta, but that came with the experience of last year
no it makes a lot of sense, but it really all depends on the team dynamic. Remember how geng pioneered the jett yoru no senti? it was because they worked around the strengths and weaknesses of meteor. He did struggle in the beginning when playing senti properly,(kind of like how primmie does and just disregards util) but he eventually was regarded as one of the best in his role maybe ever. Again, it depends on how the team likes to play, as nowadays double smokes is less played on some maps (not on haven, lotus, ascent, sunset, pearl, and icebox and split are sometimes 50/50), and vyse has really soared. personally i dont think viper is ESSENTIAL as long as you have a team that can work around you
