Chimera Ant arc is overrated, I agree. Definitely my least favorite HxH arc. The journey was boring as fuck, but at least the payoff was somewhat strong. I gotta rewatch the show someday, but it's been like 3 years since I've actually watched any anime lol
yes york new is so clear, chimera made it generic and mediocre for me, all arcs before that were so good and had a scent of uniqueness
you should watch the new ones, theres some insane ones that came up in the last year or so
I wouldn't call the Chimera Ant arc "generic" per se. It was actually pretty unique and the way it handled Meruem was quite good imo. It was honestly just the incredibly slow pacing for like 90% of the arc and the constant expository dialogue from the narrator that killed it for me. It also introduced a lot of new characters that I just didn't find myself caring about, while CONTINUING to sideline the characters that I did actually care for (Kurapika and Leorio).
The best way I'd describe the arc is just a constant flow of low lows, with a few incredibly high highs, especially towards the end.
i remember dropping the show for like 10 times when the guy was running around the city at like 97 episode
so its definitely VERY slow and im a one piece fan

Oh I dropped the show like 3 times during that arc. I eventually pulled through and finished it eventually, though I'm not quite sure it was worth it. I guess it was, maybe, because I did enjoy the following 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc to end the anime. Felt like a return to form because it's pacing was back to what I liked about the anime for so long.
