Poll: Should Valorant have concurrent games?

With the recent EWC qualify experience, where up to 4 games were happening at once, we got a little taste of what it would be like, and while some streams had more viewers than others, I think they all got a pretty decent amount.

With that said, if Riot were to make so in each split, everyone plays against everyone, instead of groups, but teams get 2 matches a week instead of 1, and one of the matches is in a studio with no audience, with the stream happening at the same time as another game, would you be down for it?

we had some during kickoff, mostly due to tech pauses though

yeah but also look at PAC/CN they overlap as well. i dont agree with it since it just means ppl wont watch the other game

Would ppl that watch APAC watch the Chinese games though?

Would you rather have slightly more ppl watching AG x Tyloo than watching RB play for TEC twice?

im saying most people dont rewatch games that happened-they just watch whatevers on so id rather each region have its own timeslot (i alr dont like cn/pac schedule overlap)

Yeah bro we definitely need less prep time, and regeneration time. I'm sure the level of play will rise /s

Yeah bro we should definitely leave it as it is, where ppl get 5 games in tier 1 and then are fired because they have no time to adjust or develop and keep having "burnout" because the pressure to perform is distributed in few matches /s

i agree with part of it.

every team should play every other team in the league at least once each split, with 2 matches a week if we're truly trying to gauge the best team. i think if they lowered production costs for regionals, by like reducing lighting, fire some of the useless anaylst desk people and overall make it cheaper then its viable to have double the games. maybe even just hosting regionals online like in rl qualifiers (that might be pushing it idk)

concurrent games no because that hurts viewership which is one of their main priorities.

I dont think that it hurts viewership, maybe on the main broadcast, my example ( and I know i'm talking extremes):

There is a Furia x 2G game, followed by Sentinels x G2.
First match you get like 30k~ and on the next one 100k~

The following day you get Cloud9 x NRG with 60k followed by Loud x MIBR with 70k.

That would average 65k~ viewers through 2 days, 4 match slots

If they were to happen at the same time, for day 1-first slot you get Sentinels x G2 on stream A with 90k viewers, and Furia x 2g on stream B with 10k viewers. For day 1- slot 2 you get Loud x MIBR on stream A with 50k viewers and Cloud9 x NRG on stream B with 40k viewers.

But since 2 games are happening at once, you get games on other days that you wouldn't get otherwise, like G2 x Furia, 2G x Sentinels, Loud x Cloud9 and NRG x MIBR, and even if some of them are blowouts, or don't attract that much audience, you get some games that are worth watching anyway.

I think wanting 2 full round-robin (+12 games) isn't possible, but I agree we need a little bit more games, but it would be better if they are no overlap

Solution 1 : 2024 format
if we go to 2024 format thats one game more

Solution 2 : 1 round-robin for split 2
If we want split 2 to be more important, we can do :

  • Kickoffs
  • Split 1 : 2 groups
  • Split 2 : 1 single round-robin
This add only 6 games per team, so it sounds doable

Solution 3 : Ascention after split 1
4 team could be ascended temporary, doing 2 group of 8. The top 2 stays for the next year (And have to invest into facilities in Berlin)
2 games more per teams (And solve Ascention pardox of being able to end 2nd to champions and stil get relegated)
(Not sure if it's possible to play the split 2 only without facility and consider it as a one shot event like champions)

I dont think solution 1 is enough or good even (format punishes bad starts heavily)

But I like Solution 2 and Solution 3 could work, but it involves a lot more stuff, because you would have to review all of the tier 2 schedule

Solution 2 would be the "Faria-community compromise", probably the easiest one to do, that need a 11 week tournament when a act is usually 9 week, so hard to say if we dont want a change in the mapool in the middle of the split (Maybe for playoffs we will have no choice but to change mapool between regular and PO)

About solution 3, tier 2schedule is already messy as fuck anyway (Beside EMEA that is preatty clean), Split 2 EMEA T2 is almost over, so technically that would mess the schedule, the solution is just to transform this event into ascention
