CS fan here, Looks like you guys having your own iBP moment, enjoy it while it lasts because NA will never be the same after this.

Thought it can change if Riot pumps in millions like they usually do to keep it afloat but still it won't work unless they remove franchising.
NA VAL fans how you guys feeling? If things go wrong NA VAL might just be done for down the road

People were begging riot to do something with the tier 2 scene and they never did anything with it, they just continued to do things to benefit themselves (SOOP deal is an example). Gonna be a whole mess to see their scene fall due to their neglect to it (ofc gonna be sad to the players tho but they can't control that).

Yeah but as much as riot are responsible so is the community I don't see anyone telling people to watch t2 why would riot invest into it

What about when Moist Moguls and DSG were part of tier 2? the viewership was probably the highest it will be yet Riot didn't do shit with it. Toast literally didn't attempt to come back to the scene because he lost so much money from it.

Okay but we're his viewers ever watching the other games because I don't think it matters all that much if the peaks are bug but everything else gets 0 views

ShitMEA is the one that is dying first in vct, then NA, then China, and APAC is gonna be the only competition left.

Because riot loves KR more than any region out there

they like china just as much

they literally favour china the most out of any region in the world. China straight up has their own franchise league - the only country to have their own tier 1 AND tier 2 scene AND dedicated server

They don't favor China more than Korea it's from a financial standpoint lmao, why would you not allow a region of 12 orgs that would constantly flood the scene with cash while orgs in other parts of the world do the bare minimum like Americas? The amount that Chinese orgs spend in this game is probably the same amount of every single team combined within other regions of VCT.

Also known as favouring China the most out of every region lmfao

Riot clearly loves your region the most out of every region - the reason behind it is irrelevant because China clearly receives more support than every other region in the world - not Korea. So unbelievably tone deaf lmao

China is the only country in the world to receive direct slots to Masters and Champions tournaments since franchising began.

There's nothing wrong with admitting that China is Riot's favourite. What is wrong is acting like other regions get more love, because that's clearly not true.

Riot gave Korea the most amount of spots within Pacific and completely neglected other Pacific sub regions, let me ask you a question if you're going to include China as a region would you want them in Pacific so they lose spots because of them? Probably not so why not give them their own region when they are going to spend the most amount of money anyways in the league lmaoooo.

the reason behind it is irrelevant because China clearly receives more support than every other region in the world - not Korea.

And explain that to me, besides your dumbass argument that "china gets it's own league" what else does China get that the rest of the world doesn't? these extra events that are setup in china are not setup by riot, they get much less recognition and advertising compared to other regions lmao.

Are you actually stupid?

SEA has the most slots in Pacific with 4. Korea is 2nd with 3. People have corrected you on this before lmfao

besides your dumbass argument that "china gets it's own league" what else does China get that the rest of the world doesn't?

A whole fucking franchise league of 12 teams with up to 4 direct slots to international events, their own Ascension league, and marketing is a huge fucking deal you moron lmao, no other country is getting this level of support ever buddy. You're acting like having your own tier 1 franchise league is something small.

Once again there is nothing wrong with admitting that China gets the most love from Riot, but it is unbelievable to cry about favouritism while rocking the CN flag

Representing multiple countries, Korea has the most which was what I was saying lmao not this stupid ass argument. Regions like OCE didn't get a spot because KR got them instead

People have corrected you on this before lmfao

Where lmao????? pulling shit out of your ass.

A whole fucking franchise league of 12 teams with up to 4 direct slots to international events, their own Ascension league, and marketing is a huge fucking deal you moron lmao, no other country is getting this level of support ever buddy. You're acting like having your own tier 1 franchise league is something small.

so you literally just stated the thing I said to not state... you might be stupid or just a china hater lmao

Is it favoritism to give your biggest market it's own league?

Tencent owns riot. In fact they are doing less for cn region with late entry in scene.Biggest esports market with richest orgs & billion people.

Tencent owns stakes in many major game companies but they keep their hands off with regard to how its run - that's just their modus operandi. They even have stake in companies like Larian, but don't do anything with them.

It's possible that Tencent may rifle through the books at the companies they have holdings in, but generally speaking just because Riot is owned by Tencent there aren't real grounds to assume they interfere with the day-to-day dealings of the company.

Its not just shares. Its fully ownership.

Regardless, Tencent is generally hands-off. I don't really think they have anything to do with how Riot runs VCT.

prob never saw the vision of fps being that popular in cn. Coz bigger orgs are still not going all out in valorant. EDG champs win def helped the scene.

Nah, FPS is pretty big in China - it's just that the games that dominate the market there aren't well-known in the West. Crossfire and PUBG are two of the top Chinese FPS games and China has won trophies in both. I think it's just that the primary focus of esports in China remains largely within League of Legends.
