IGL vs Midrounder

why do you think certain igl's struggle with midroundering while midrounders struggle being an IGL? I thought they would go more hand in hand. When ange1 and johnqt switched to initiator I feel like the team's mid-rounding got worse?? FNC's mid-rounding got better when crashies took over (only 1 game sample size but still looked better). NRG under ethan and VIT under sayf, both team's macro sorta lack. GenG also look worse with only munchkin.

Because being a team leader who plans preround plays is a different skillset from improvising the right call under pressure

I guess I'm just confused on role changes like on TH with woot going to controller with boo playing the more initiator. If you're used to a calling style why change it, that's one thing I never really understood especially if your team already has good mid-rounders

Everyone can IGL. Not everyone can Midround well though.

Ethan is quite literally the exception, horrible reads but great adaptation

Isn’t it just easier to read the other team and the map when you’re anchoring, and not as focused on team fighting? Having an initiator who can be focused on the team fighting such as Zellsis or Crashies while also being able to aid in mid rounding just makes more sense. Maybe it’s harder to manage both playing initiator as igl.
