actual question how tf does offside work
i played soccer a bit when i was a kid and i was a defender but never understood how tf offside worked
Can you not pass the ball forward at all if theres a guy in front of you or is that not a penalty
Basically if there are 2 players attacking and one of em passes the ball onto the other player, the player who receives the ball should be behind the last defender or it will be an offside. That is why players dont just stand near the goalpost because itll result in an offside
unless they are within their own half, which keeps teams from wanting to play super high lines

Wrong, there are 2 conditions for offside to apply:
-there are less than 2 players between the player receiving the ball and the goal
-the player passing the ball is behind the receiving one when kicking
If one of these don't apply it's not offside
