Difficult to say that. While FPX are definitely a close #2 in China we need to see how EDG plays. For all we know EDG could completely bomb out like they did against LOUD. Even though FPX were a mess in Madrid at least the maps weren't a blowout. If EDG will ever become a serious contender to win an international the time is now to show it.
I'm not at all worried about KangKang, I'm predicting a EDG 2-1 over TH. I'm just worried that the rest of the team will feel added pressure being the only Chinese team in Shanghai. I know from watching their vlogs that they've had issues with their mental.
i mean they've always been "the only chinese team", but i see what you mean. that pressure could also be fuel to perform well(which is what im hoping will happen)
FPX were pushing their potentials during their games in swiss. Unless EDG is able to figure something out, its tough to tell. Though EDG bombing out of Madrid because of LOUD might be a good motivator for something good.
hard to tell EDG had the opportunity to scrim and stuff and them picking th to me seems like a anti strat pick seeing they couldve picked fut ngl. FPX learnt a lot but EDG rn is a mystery
I think EDG have better chances vs heretics purely based on map pool but overall they're about the same level
from the cn games ive watched i would say fpx are better but maybe edg have improved since we last saw them. the reason why fpx lost the final is bc they get a little too confident and start making more mistakes then normal i think its their lack of experience.
TH has got to feel relieved that they get to play their third China team
