8/16=x/48

The best way to learn how to do these questions is to try and get x by itself.
Times both sides by 48 as the x is being divided by 48. If you do something to both sides of an equation its still true. 2x2=4 -> 2x2x2=4x2 which is true.
once you multiply both sides by 48 the equation looks like 48×8/16, and 8/16=1/2 as you can divide top and bottom by 8 leaving 48×1/2=x which is the same as 48/2=x which is 24
