Let me list, just a few, Omen players that do that job and also can frag, just to prove a point.
Ethan, nitr0, s0m, Subroza, jcStani, mummAy, Marved, Leaf, YaBoiDre. gMd. Even kaboose, stellar, and WeDid could probably out-do him. Those are JUST NA. And I probably forgot some too.'
Edit: I'm by no means saying zombs needs to be replaced, I'm sure they function better as a team with him than they would with any of these other players. But if someone else had been there from the start to form the bonds they have now, they could be even better.
The thing is that none of the players you named, except maybe nitr0 and gMd, are as good of a site anchor as zombs. Maybe I'm thinking way too highly of zombs but he is one of the best site anchors in the game and one of the best support players in the game. Hell he might even be the best supportive omen in NA. None of those players would better than Zombs in his role, other than maybe nitr0. So even though they do a better job at fragging, they wouldn't do a better job at playing his role within this team.
You think way too highly of site anchoring. Who even keeps track of it. The players who are the best at anchoring are the ones who have the best game sense and positioning. They will as such probably have the least deaths on the team. So maybe look for that stat instead?
Anyone and everyone can site anchor. Are you saying he’s good at killing one or two people when like 5 come to his site alone? Helps when you have an omen blind. But anyone can site anchor and they can all do it equally well because it’s not that challenging of a task!
Also, do you think all the players I mentioned would be good if they couldn’t use Omen abilities as a support? All you have to do is follow what you IGL says, like when to blind and where to smoke. Hell, I could use Omens abilities perfectly because they’re not that complicated and don’t have a high skill ceiling.
- You use stats way too much. I go off what I see and what I see is that Zombs is a better site anchor than most of the other guys you named.
- Being a site anchor is actually very difficult. Zombs is able to kill 2 or stall long enough for his teammates to rotate when many other players would die very quickly to a site execute.
- Do you actually think that IGL's micromanage every player's utility on their team? Spoiler: they don't. IGL's call plays, rotates and set ups and the rest is on the other players.
Again, he's by no means the best omen and he might not even be top 10 in NA be he is the best or one of the 3 best players at his role in NA.
- Site anchor isn’t a specific person’s job. When your team calls for rotates, someone who is at the site stays behind. Maybe half the time, they actually come back to the site. And most of the time, by that time, you already have someone with you, or it’s just one person trying to lurk for picks and it’s a 1v1. There should never be a time in pro play where there is one dude against 5 people unless your team really messed up. zombs may be good at playing with his team, but that’s again a chemistry thing. zombs himself is not a good player, he is just synchronized with his team from all the time they have played together.
- IGLs make a playbook where there are certain flash locations, so yeah, they pretty much do micromanage, especially the omen because the omens flash plays a critical role in offense, same for breach. Also the IGL might not want specific smoke locations depending on the hit, so they’ll tell you that too. So yeah, on the organized plays you are definitely micromanaged.
- Yes, stats aren’t important, if you’re doing your job you’re doing the right thing. But what I’m suggesting is that all these players do a good job on their role AND can consistent hold up higher frag numbers. Omen is actually a lot about fragging than most people think, too. Your abilities are pretty cookie-cutter when you’re running plays and countering on defense or playing for retake. It’s about if you can get your kill after you use that util too, not just your team following up.
Did just say Shaa is average? Uhh my man, he is the coach, IGL, brainchild, and used to be their primary Oper and he does really well in matches... how are you seeing average? haha

Dude SEN are unstoppable in NA, why would they even change their roaster. Why does he need to frag out when he has Sick, tenz and Shahzam lol. He gets his kills if people hit his site and has some amazing smoke line-ups what else do you want.
i agree that the team would be better without zombs, but they're doing fine right now so they wouldn't change anything
Zombs is a great site anchor, and the best supportive Omen in NA. He isn't a play maker because that isn't his role. He also was responsible for building the team so I doubt he will be dropped and he shouldn't be.
i feel like zombs is not bad, he just needs to find his stride. ppl in this game are easy to write off anyone who underperforms in a few games

Ok I think the idea of replacing zombs is stupid but this isn't a case of a player "who underperforms in a few games" he has consistently bottom fragged for Sen since release. However his value is as a site anchor and a support player, not as a fragger but don't say his "underperformance" has only been for a few games because it hasn't.
Zombs is a great anchor and sacrifices himself for the team he's low in frags because he's a team player.
Every team needs a support player to die for the duelists or to anchor and just stay alive smoking for them, Zombs is also great at clutches.

Before hating this thread poster, if you sort all Omens in NA by every single stat, zombs is always the last or the one among the last of all NA Omens who are playing in tournaments. So yeah replacement would be good for the team probably for someone like POISED / Subroza / s0m / jcStani? Potentionally? after contracts are over or so? But yeah as far as they win, there is no reason to do such changes,
