if you start in upper round 1 its better for you to lose first match, then win the second match in lower round 1 - congrats, youre qualified to tokyo, in only 2 games

but if you win the first match and then proceed to lose to the top seeded team in upper semifinals, then lose again, you are out, which looks like 1W-1L-1L. so you go 1w -2L in 3 games. you will therefore have to go 1W-1L-1W (2W-1L) in this scenario to qualify.

The only downside is you reveal more strats ig?
Like winning your first match means you have 2 chances to make it instead of just 1 if you lose the first match
If you win first and lose second, you playing against the same as if you lost the first right?

So they aren't incentivised to not try to win the first match
