To all the Breeze lovers, feel bad for you guys since that's how I felt when Split was removed, but Breeze being taken out of the map pool was the best possible decision Riot could have made. This map offered very little in terms of creating diverse team comps, utility usage, strategy, etc. It was always which team had the better op'er and always the same bland viper wall, drone/dog first, and yeet a recon arrow or eye and rush site. Split-pushing from mid can hardly be viewed as a strategy since the map is so wide it's usually separate gunfights on two different fronts if that happens to be the case. (Unlike Split where you actually need superior coordinated utility usage and map awareness to execute onto sites.)

imo you can incorporate more strategy in icebox, mid can be far more effectively utilized and a more compact site allows for coordinated utility to have a bigger impact

Well they did say this game was designed to have a thriving pro scene so it makes sense how matches played by pros on these maps would be a significant determining factor

Chamber didn't invent the Operator my guy, yes he is insane with it considering his skillset, but you can still play it insanely good regardless.

Yeah I agree with you. Breeze had such a stale meta and it was so boring to watch. Split at least has more agents being played on it.

Split can be played like CS:GO and contradicts the overall theme of Valorant which makes it different from a standard FPS game. Whereas on Breeze it is a utility usage map as well as it requires one to have a solid aim to be able to frag so that makes it a perfect combination. Apart from that, Split is one of the most one-sided maps along with Bind and that is completely ruining the mentality of the players especially if you're starting on Attacking side on those two maps. Removing Split and deciding to remove Bind was great calls but removing Breeze? I don't think so.

In addition to that, maps like Split and Bind are way too small for a game like Valorant, since what makes the game unique and different is that agents having utilities. Having that kind of small maps will get the match to choke or get stuck at some point. You need to give players a playground, a space to shine with their utility usage.
