Holy shit every single time I see someone reference scrim results for why a team is good it actually pisses me off, scrims are literally just practice games, they're meant to get your reps in working on NEW stuff, good teams can still get blown tf out in a scrim because they are trying out a new comp or a new map, or maybe they're practicing their A retakes so they give up site easy and practice their retake spacing and utility. Nobody other than T3 teams who have no idea wtf they're doing plays scrims the same way they play in officials because by the time they play on officials they are already using strats they are familiar and comfortable with, while in scrims they are going to use strats that feel awkward because they are new. The only difference I can even conceive of would be scrims from teams in masters/champions tournaments, but even then they would still be practicing certain things and not playing them exactly like officials. PLEASE VLR STOP TALKING ABOUT SCRIM RESULTS

There's still a correlation between scrim and match results; teams that do very well in scrims have usually performed in matches later.

GMB: Used to be THE scrim demons back in Masters 2, won M3 Berlin and placed 2nd at Champions.
ENVY/OpTic: Were always known as a scrim team in NA even in the First Strike days, 3 top 3 finishes and a win so far.
Acend: iirc the coach posted some scrim stats and they performed very well in scrims, won Champions.
KRU: Also known as a scrim team (?) at least during Champions and maybe M3, top 4 at Champions.
Leviatan: I remember there was someone who said Leviatan was the strongest team they scrimmed and some players predicting them to win over DRX (I think it was Acend), beat XSET and played very close games against DRX and FNC.
FPX: Yay in Masters 1 said that FPX was the strongest team in scrims, won Copenhagen.

C9 and Ghost were also scrim teams iirc that popped off in matches later on

Before you start blasting off on how scrims are just practice matches. Idk or IDC about M1 but Gambit and envy won the MOST scrims before that event and who were the finalists? Gambit and envy. After champions 2021 acend 's coach literally posted their team's scrim stats and they had won almost all of their scrims. Also kru was popping off in scrims before champions and we saw how their run went. Before masters 1 2022 loud were supposed to be very good at scrims and they were the finalists. After Zeta lost their opening match drx tweeted that if Zeta played the event like they had played their scrims then anything can happen and we saw how Zeta 's fairlytale run went. Sadly I have 0 info about M2 scrims but you get the point. Scrims do mean something.
