Do you guys think these master events mean as much as champs? Obviously champs is the big event but these master events don’t feel any different in terms of how important they are or just the overall feel of it

Champs should be much bigger but I personally take it just equal. Only 3 international tourneys for this game so I take every single one equally important

champions is the major. in a few years, people will rank teams by major wins.

They all feel the same because they haven't held a tournament with fans. In theory champs would have the biggest arena the most hype. But so far we have just had 4 tournaments in a studio that all looks the same. Yes acend won "champs" but it feels like they just won another international LAN and nothing more than that.

You wanna do good in masters so you get more points to qualify for champions

Champions didn't feel that different to the Masters events last year, I'm hoping Riot can make it stand out this year.

last year all events felt the same, even the production was the exact same throughout the year. They gotta change that

That's what im sayin. Champions was basically just masters 3. Felt legit 0 difference from the other 2 masters events when watching champs. Ik covid is still a thing kinda but holy fck just give us fans. Every other major sport and esport for that matter has fans, its time to grow up

Agreed.

Acend won champs and then went straight into disarray. It didn't feel like they achieved more than any of the other event winners. There's nothing different about the events other than the prize pool and champs bundle.

Champions 2021 would be the equivalent of Fnatic winning Worlds 2011

They feel the same due to no crowd and riot making the themes the samebut for the teams and in terms of accolades Champs is still the biggest in terms of accolades. Realistically masters are qualifiers to Champions. Every team's end goal is winning Champions, not Masters, it's overall the more prestigious event and got most prize pool.

They matter fairly equally in terms of judging team's strength tho

"It didnt feel like they achieved more"

Braindead take. Twitter followers dont determine accolades. Acend didn't do good at building hype on their twitter or build a fanbase compared to teams like G2, or SEN and they aren't as established as Gambit. Doesnt take anything away from their win though.
