im not saying that the format is bad or anything, but what are your thoughts on this?

currently, every team in playoffs can lose two series before being eliminated, except for the winner of the upper bracket final. if they lose a single series (grand final), they're out. they have no lifeline, but the lower bracket winner will have had one.

the alternative that you're describing is called a bracket reset, and only really works in shorter fast paced esports like fighting games. for something like valorant it would make the "first" grand finals much less interesting because only one team has an actual win condition in it. would extend the end of the tournament and drain hype

before the team that went through the upper bracket would get a map advantage (start the match 1-0 up in the series) but they don't do it anymore.

An advantage of an upper bracket seeder into Finals should be a map ban they get for free. Or if you really wanna emphasize the advantage then give them an auto map win at the choice of the lower seed.

People not realize that upper grand final advantage give you less match to play and can analize other team strats by simply watch lower bracket run + if you win and dnt lose other team will more hard to find ur weakness

If you think this is not enough then its is because you never been play in pro scene, the advantage is so huge
