Insta locking

Is instalocking a favorable character always bad?

For context I went on a big losing streak this act and am working on ranking back up. I am currently averaging a 1.35 k/d on chamber and a 1.35 k/d on Jett, both with 80 and 75 percent winrates respectively, compared to Omen, where I average a 0.95 k/d and a 40% winrate

would it be better for myself and the team if I instalock chamber/jett so that I can carry the team for the win, compared to being unselfish and risking losing bc I'm not as good at smokes/initiator

I personally think instalocking would be the better thing to do, but a lot of teammates get butthurt if I steal "their" agent

I think if youre a good jett it’s fine but if youre not feeling it/youre not quick enough you should be ready and good to flex to anything :)

Logically It would be better to talk things out with your team, who's comfortable on what role, etc. during your minute and half you have during agent select, but that rarely happens.

Who cares about the teammates' hypocrisy. At the end of the day, it's a game and it loses all meaning if you don't find it enjoyable. Play who you want to play, there's no agent that belongs to someone. As long as you aren't throwing and genuinely trying in the matches, it's all good. Plus, purposely playing agents you don't know how to play and don't want to play won't be fun for you or your teammates. You probably won't perform as well, it won't be fun, and the teammates won't be happy no matter what because there's less of a chance of winning. Play who you know how to play, and who you want to play, because you can't please everyone. So just have fun, play hard, and go next.

Valorant is definitely a team game that requires cooperation, but sometimes teammates are assholes. At those times, it's their fault, not yours. Yeah, just don't throw.
