Gambit situation

So it looks like Riot is waiting for stuff to calm down in Ukraine, but its only escalating and doesn't seem like there will end soon.
Best case scenario for Gambit will be to play without representing org and Russia, but there could also be visa problems as some EU countries stopped issuing them to Russian citizens, I can see whole Schengen stopping all but political refugees from entering by the time Masters start, that would effect more teams that have Russian players.

Also Russia themselves could stop players from leaving as they might get conscripted. Or just stop emigration in general as its big problem there right now.

I think RIOT is still contacting Iceland gov if they can issue visa to Russians. Otherwise they would've already playing under a diff name.

Yeah I feel so bad for Gambit, I think if they were able to play they would definitely have a really good chance of even winning it, really shitty situation all around

I think that NA might have their best shot of winning an international tournament in a long while right now though, with Acend not looking that good, Gambit might not being able to play, and the new meta favoring double duelist and just running in sites

Let's just pray that Gambit will be back once again. It's hard to imagine Iceland without them, but qualifying for Masters 2 or Champions isn't going to be much of an issue for such a high calibre team. Let's just hope Riot makes the right call on Gambit's situation and compensate them if they won't be able to play.

In that case, I wonder braveaf can get visa from Iceland or not if Fnatic qualify. I believe he is Russia nationality. Not sure they would check based on org or players nationality.

If Gambit is a Russian org, then in theory, they could play under the CIS banner, not signifying that they are from Russia but still representing the region they play for

I think bigger question is if they will be able go to LAN

Monesy said most likely he won't be able to play CSGO tournament in Dallas because getting a VISA at this time is hard. Not sure what Iceland going to do. FPX has 2 russian players, Guild has 1, G2 has a coach and whole GMB.
