so basically, Sword9 joined TYLOO as a coach when the team was struggling, and he became deeply involved, especially with the younger players (splash, erv, and scales). He handled VOD reviews and strategies, and even translated everything into english for splash. Over time, he began having significant internal disagreements with players and management regarding team decisions, compositions, economy, and so on. He eventually burned out and asked for some time away. The organization placed him on paid leave, but later he wanted to return to coaching.

When TYLOO qualified for Champions, Sword9 returned to Chengdu because 117 (one of the bosses) had told him that if they qualified, he would be able to serve as coach at the event. Even after they qualified, he was told he deserved to be there and that his name would be included for the event. However, Zige later spoke to him and said he ultimately wouldn't be going to Champions, claiming that taking him along would be unfair to Billy and the others, and that they believed TYLOO could win without him. They also criticized him for showing up unannounced for the trophy photo. Sword9 was furious and demanded compensation of around 200,000–300,000 RMB for the Champions prize money. The organization told him that, as of July 1st, he was no longer entitled to bonuses—noting that he had already received a 150,000 RMB buyout plus two months of paid leave—and that the decision was final.

In the end, they handed him his termination papers and told him he had to leave the bootcamp. He even offered to continue helping hypnotizing remotely, but they refused.

What hit him the hardest was that he had spent years trying to reach Champions; this was the first time it actually looked like he would make it, only to be cut right at the last moment.

From what I saw in the thread that translated all this, the police located him and he is safe.

What do you think of this situation? I personally dislike tyloo organization with this.

as harsh as it sounds, letting sword9 go was probably the reason we made it in the end. The disagreements about comps and strats were so obvious and low morale most definitely contributed to us choking repeatedly. In hindsight, maybe sword9’s ideas weren’t right in the current meta/comfort of the team
the mistreatment of sword9 comes entirely outside the actual game and hating the players for that is just mad

I think he was ultimately under high emotional stress and ended up treating players and management figures poorly, in the name of wanting to win and be recognized for his work. The tyloo management seems especially incompetent from his POV, besides Rongye who treated him well. However, it is somewhat self incriminating in that he reveals that he was extremely emotionally volatile and harsh towards players. Sword9 may have perpetuated a toxic team culture resulting is management figures cutting him off before champs.

I dont get what he means by coaching for champs, is it like he wanted to coach on site in place of Billyo? (since both are ast. coach) and if so what will happen to Billyo since him and Hypnotizing were the coach at the time that made them qualified.

He was put on paid leave leading up to champs, so he basically had no involvement with the qualification run as a coach.

That is later used as justification for him not being able to participate in champs, despite earlier promises he would be there in a coaching role.

He feels like not only did management give him false promises, but they ended up not recognizing any of the work he did to build the team. He thinks his work laid the foundation to their later success and that he deserves to attend champions in that context.

whoever promised that coaching role is at fault, tho atleast let him attend but not as a coach.

I don't think they are at fault. He had a good relationship with that particular tyloo figure (rongye). However, his relationship with the other leadership and management figures was pretty poor. It is entirely likely that when it came down to it, despite rongye advocating otherwise, the other management figures decided not to bring him to champs.

shouldnt make a promise if its not certain, sounds like a miscommunication from the higher up.

i was asking "on site", like the coaches u see on stage and not backstage, since it was Hypnotizing and Billyo for the whole stage 2 iirc, and if what i read was right Sword9 was on paid leave at the time.
