when mentioning koreans / chinese / japanese or other country’s names in conversation, is it more polite to say their name with family name or given name first? for example, if i were discussing movies, would it be more polite to say “park chan-wook” or “chan-wook park” when referring to the director? i’ve started to tend to refer with given names first, but i would like to know if that is disrespectful or considered wrong before consistently saying names that way
