am 16 rn i wanna go pro but i wanna also do a echange year in korea if i can speak korean on level that is to hold a normal convo and then yk make myself noticed in korea can i get drafted by an korean org ?

thank you very much i highly appreciate it well atm its just a dream am in plat but id say am doing fine yk working alot i play 10-20 dms plus ranked and aim trainer a day stuff like that + i track it
genuinely i dont think you need to aim train, just do a couple dms before ranked, and play ranked with full comms, maybe find a good, consistent duo, and pay attention to VCT games.
tryharding in ranked alone is good enough for consistent improvement imo, i doubt most pros aim train in Val
yea i mostly play dms tho i might need to get of that habit and grind ranked ngl but yea i watch alot of vct like as much as i can i probally only miss some games bc i sleep

just please don't tire yourself out and tie your self-worth to how well you do on a random day. As someone who is relatively high elo in cs and fucked my mental at 19 and is now simply fed up with cs, just please do not turn a game your love and dream about going pro in into a circus of proving how good you are as a person.
true, im asc and 19 atm, i wanted to go pro in Val at 17 but burnt out and decided it wasn't for me anymore
10-20 dms a day is probably over-working / over-practicing and you'll soon burn out imo

I mean I still have studies for 2 years, top 1100 eu in elo, so I will just grind in between my studies and see what happens when I come back probably. I am genuinely baffled how I managed to get to where i got with all these perfectionism traps you lay for yourself when you grind hard when I look back. Like, grinding is so fucking tough, it's almost inevitable you start thinking of yourself as a god when you win and as shit when you lose. Like i just caught myself being fed up with just seeing the fucking shortcut on my computer

losing when you're genuinely tryhard grinding is such a confidence killer, thats why perseverance in esports is so important
am doing pretty fine i dont have much going on atm and stuff am going new school i have the idea layed out and stuff if i get tired of val i just play league roblox or watch insta
oh also you'll probably have an easier-ish time going pro or getting scouted due to the new VCT system next year with open qual, however it's highly likely that it wouldn't be financially consistent
There are some teams who switched to english and then waited for the player to learn the language (e.g. big trying to make xantares learn german), so safe to say if your language knowledge is good enough to comm you are good to go

if we are being perfectly objective even knowing basic korean while being an amazing prospect will be enough for teams to give you a chance at the very minimum. It will be in their interest to help you speed up learning the language ofc, but the base minimum is being able to comm easily (and you will do it in ranked games so there you go). Just a pure recent example out of my head, kyousuke being signed to falcons. He didn't speak english that well when he first signed mid-2025, but he learned the language while being in the team and now there is no comm issue.
oh okay interesting yea well i still have some time left and if i go for an exchange yea ill def need to know basic korean so ill prob be working on that soon am having a talk with my school on what the possibilitys are so ill be starting as soon as i have the okay
bro you have plenty of time stop stressing you are 16, do an exchange year, grind korean pubs (it will definitely improve your game sense, you will play a different pool of players), and even if it's not korea, it's mileage and experience. Korea is literally the region with the most players in tier 1 rn, if you grinded pubs there, even without a team reaching out to you, you would come out experienced. Just grind hard bro, gl!

I don't think Korean orgs will take a foreigner even if the foreigner is fluent in their language. Generally they rarely take foreign players in the first place in esports and now their local talent pool is very deep that it's unlikely any kr org will take you in unless you are like best itw level player.
You will have better luck with China or Japan than Korea at least for esports.

Yeah kinda. Pc esports culture is still relatively new and the talent pool isn't as developed so they often take in foreign players. The t2 scene financially is big tho. Probably the biggest t2 scene itw in terms of money and popularity.
prolly hyunmin was gonna be on prx cause he spoke english if ur good enough and no language barrier there is probably a chance
