Is it possible to heal on your own without professional help? All the addictions, traumas, mental illness is it possible to work on these on your own? I just don't want to get scammed since I am not rich.

pretty difficult to be fair

its possible, but it def makes the proces faster and you cannot do anything wrong because they are 'professionals' just make sure you find a good one with good reviews

its good to have a perspective thats not only outside of ur mind so it can understand what ur dealing with, without bias, but also that is trained to understand what ur dealing with to help you heal better

if ur financial situation is bad id suggest its not necessary but if u have the money for it i would recommend

ive dealt with 2 mental issues in my life,

the first one was depression when i was still very young, i got through that on my own over the course of like 1 year, but it was a terrible 1 year. i wouldn't wish it on anyone.

the second was a mental issue where i needed a therapist because i couldnt eat around other people, and she helped me through that. it was so much easier than the first time.

overall, yea therapists have helped me a lot, but its defintely not necessary if you dont have the funds.

addictions and traumas depend on the individual and the gravity of the situation

could be so bad it can give you PTSD, which is a mental disorder

and mental disorders need to be treated with a professional

It depends who you are and what type of situation you're in. There are a lot of things that having a social circle around you helps with. Ik a lot of people who didn't go through therapy because socializing and having close friends and family that you can talk to about these issues is impactful. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who don't have that kind of circle, or maybe they're suffering from things they just aren't ready to/can't tell the people closest to them, or just have issues that friends and family can't fix, a therapist not only understand people and emotions in a way that may make it easier to articulate/work through what you're feeling, but they're also legally bindes to remain confidential. Like i said in the beginning, it's case by case. If you feel like there aren't any other options, therapy is a solid option.

One of those are not like the others. You need proper care and medications if you have mental illness. But most of the stuff you listed would be possible without therapist but its going to be extremely hard since therapist can get you proper support system to overcome them.

tbh the point of it is a an outside perspective - if you can find one like a trusted friend then you don't really need one. If you dont have a trusted friend then do go see one
