It gives proper seeding, since first seed doesn't give a bye, when you seed every team that qualified you can guarantee the weakest team gets the strongest, which i think would be pretty good in other regions too
The only issue is china for once is giving the BYE to the top 4 teams in groups.
yeah at least it makes playins more balanced but this format is kinda lame
Losing the seed match put Tyloo in a guaranteed match against the seed 1 if they advance, also it made play-ins more balanced i think its pretty nice
this assumes the seed 1s will be trying at all, which i don’t think they will
ESPECIALLY if an upset occurs, the seed 1s are now incentivized to lose
