nooomy [#2]having watched it for like 10 minutes its really boring to watch as a casual
thats my worry abt deadlock as a whole too
its rlly fun
but getting ppl into it is a challenge cus the moba elements are harder to explain

I put it in the LoL category where its just a whole load of nothing until theres something but you dont understand what the something is
I mean once you understand the game it's not that bad
Like I used to tune into Deadlock Night Shift every now and then but I think the scene will be pretty small overall, I don't expect big orgs to invest in it.
I have roughly 90 hrs on it but it just kinda gets boring after a while I feel

i think a few of the cs/dota orgs might dabble in it cus its a valve game
i just hope that a scene does develop cus honestly im a big fan of the game
gonna play it for the first time tonight, closest character to soj in your opinion?
widepeepofrosty [#8]gonna play it for the first time tonight, closest character to soj in your opinion?
vindicta or holiday
I mean it's fun to play and worse games have esports scenes so I don't see why not
Also valve game means big money will be involved and sponsored majors likely
9wntr [#9]vindicta or holiday
alr thanks, gonna become vindicta82 😈😈
I could see it ngl, it has an insanely high ceiling and the game is improving somewhat fast, I don't think it will get a good esport from the get go, but a year or 2 after the real release yes sure why not;
But if you don't really play the game, if you tune in to watch a rift fight and you're immediately closing the tab LMAOOO
it will definitely be successful as a game as for esports it really depends how its marketed and obviously its still in development so my opinion could change but i think it appeals much more to a moba audience as a esport than it does anything else my worry is that they will try to market to everyone and end up appealing to nobody. but if it taps into the right market it will be bigger than dota
spongebob_ [#15]is the game still in beta
not even in beta yet its a invite only alpha
kyro1 [#19]not even in beta yet its a invite only alpha
it’s de facto an open beta everyone can easily get an invite
widepeepofrosty [#8]gonna play it for the first time tonight, closest character to soj in your opinion?
probably like vyper but there isnt really any 1 for 1 unfortunately
Pomshies [#20]it’s de facto an open beta everyone can easily get an invite
bc it was leaked?? only ever meant to be open to select people
kyro1 [#22]bc it was leaked?? only ever meant to be open to select people
u can literally get it just from someone inviting u on steam
voryache32 [#23]u can literally get it just from someone inviting u on steam
yes?
I don't think it will be a big esport. It has the same syndrome as overwatch, its way too much. Everyone fighting each other in one screen just isn't that interesting to watch. In valorant/cs you spectate one person and when they hit good shots or clutches you can appreciate them but with these games its way too chaotic to digest these nuances.
Isometric moba games are also easy to spectate unlike deadlock
My guess is it will be one of those games that is fun to play but relatively boring to watch
