SEA: Foxz on why the team left X10 CRIT

Bolded text represents edits for a more likely truth to be told. Please note some of this could be just speculation/rumors, and if anyone is knowledgable of the Thai scene I would highly appreciate any backing of the statements given.

Update: Regarding all of this, an X10 CRIT staff member has said that many of the things mentioned here may not be true, yet the internal issues were true. Both players and staff are on different sides and are saying different things, so it is important to consider what both parties are saying.

Following X10’s breakout performance in Champions, XIA foxz has opened up on stream as to why the team left X10 CRIT and chose not to renew their contracts.

To put it simply: X10 has had issues with paying the players their cut of the $500,000+ USD (15 million Baht) from Champions skin sales. It seems as if that there was no obligation by Riot towards making orgs to pay the players the money, and likely the Champions cut was initially much less given to the players before a final payment, with issues with receiving money as well. (final figure ranges from ~3 million Baht per player)

0bi, the only member of the former roster sticking with X10, has not said anything regarding the matter. This might be due to contract terms, yet nothing is certain as the situation is messy and filled with speculation.

In addition, foxz also said that X10, FS/Thai players were paid around 15,000 Baht as their salary ($450 USD, figures come from Zeus but it is unknown what it really was, some say 50,000 Baht was their recent salary)
sScary also said that there were also internal issues within the org and team (some of his tweets states that “he is free” after leaving the org)

There is conflicting information on both sides in regards to how much the players were really paid (or whether or not they paid at all), yet its still a scummy situation. Money was likely a contributor as to why the team left, however internal issues also have caused problems on both ends.

Sad stuff to see from the side of X10.

I believe Full Sense has similar salaries as well, yet apparenty they’re well treated by the org. SEA salaries are sad to see

It's very funny to me that Indian teams who aren't even close to these SEA teams get payed like 3/4 times more lmao. Like the top Indian teams get an average salary of about 1.5-2.5k dollars a month which is quite a bit in Indian money , and even more so for SEA. We have the resources and stuff but not the performance lol

salaries depend on viewership and per capita income of specific countries you can see same difference in NA and EMEA too NA has got higher salaries but not the performance also idts you can generalize all SEA countries together pretty sure SG teams pay well

Newest information i can give:

The players have likely actually been paid, yet there were issues with the players and receiving the money and foxz was talking about internal issues and Champions money
The amount was ~3m baht if its true that the players were paid

In light of this, it's better to spread this information to their Facebook as it's where most people in that region congregate. It's a fucked up situation, so thanks for spreading awareness.

Yt comments say that someone on FB was attacked for asking about the players and the Champions money, and it got deleted after :/

Well, this sucks man. Although there was no contractual obligation to split the bundle, the moral obligation is totally absent. Even in the face of public outcry, it's probably likely they won't even budge. Greedy.

Also, later in the video that is linked in the original pot, sScary said that the players have had internal problems with the org for a while now but couldn't leave because they've already signed the contracts

I see, good notice
Do you know of anything else mentioned within the video that should be noticed? I don’t know Thai so it’d be highly appreciated

Not much else of note in that video particularly, but I remember hearing something on some of their streams after they were signed to their new org, don't remember what tho, I'll try to go back to check.

Also, something of note but less important, is that both patiphan and foxz (could include other players as well) have said that they have been thinking of doing a comms video from champions but the org has not done it themselves so they wanted to request the audio from the org. They noted that it should be possible for x10 to request the audio from riot as Full Sense has also made a voice comms video but it seems like they just haven't. This is a lot less important honestly as its just content stuff but I feel like I should mention it here.

Considering the situation I'm not sure if X10 would want to let it happen, the issues between the team and the org seem to have a lot of tension on both ends

Tarik, Shroud and J9 were talking about the champions bundle money. I remember them saying that unless its in the contract then the org doesnt really have obligations to pay them their cut because there wasnt an agreement to pay them more than their contract states. So yeah the situation is just horrible for the players. They essentially got exploited by the org.

#28

Should have included a clause about this in the contract. Hopefully the players haven't made the same mistake in the new teams contracts.

sad, but they weren't contractually obligated to pay, so it is what it is.

Wait, so the players would have been paid more money in the end, had they chosen to not sign with the org at all? That's messed up.

#33

The players wouldve gotten a cut from the champions bundle money if they signed a better contract. Unfortunately, they are young and dont have much experience and didnt sign a contract with a way to extract extra money.

UPDATE : no hard feelings between the org and the players, they just have a bad timing leave, their new team treated them great and X10 has already got a new roster.

As a Thai, I have heard from one of the player stream (I don't want to mention the name, but he play initiator) that initially he planned to retire this year, but there is a reason that make he decided to compete for another year (which is this year). When the chat ask for the reason he said that

"I can't tell you right now (he might be sued) , but maybe in 5 years I will be able to talk about the reason, it will be a spicy/shock/intense** story to tell".

This might relate to this skin money issue

Additionally, from the news by 'oneesport' which I believe that it is the most recent report of this incident, it was stated that the players still have not received their share.

Note
** I don't know how to translate this specific word

I thought all the players and coaches got a total of 10% of the skin money, didn't they?
