I need y’all to understand C9 started franchising with a roster of yay, leaf, xeppaa, zellsis, and vanity and have yet to qualify for an event I think it’s fair to say they won’t qualify for London or champs. I don’t want to see this org in vct anymore.

is that franchise roster supposed to be good? they were never qualifying for anything even with the roster you said

Yay was only good because of chamber, you must've forgot what happened at DSG. Leaf duelist was DANGEROUSLY mid, zellsis is zellshits, vanity is okay, xeppa is xeppiss

yeah the worldclass jett was only good because of chamber. you tell them man

go ahead and watch the games he played on DSG and tell me with a straight face he was only good cause of chamber

#17

then why did he still underperform?

He was playing with shit players on DSG just malding lol. Jett isn't as self-sufficient as Chamber. Either way that is all beside the point, I agree yay is not good now and I wouldn't want to pick him up. But you said that the roster wasn't good at the time, which is stupid. Before the start of 2023 that roster was thought to be insane.

Yay was by far the best player in the world, Leaf was just as good as he is now, if not better since we was playing duelist, zellesis was pretty much at his peak, and vanity and xeppaa were thought of as good since this was before c9 always choking.

Yeah, he's just looking at the roster from a 2026 view, clearly did not watch the game pre-franchising

Yay was the only eye catching player on that team, Leaf's duelist like I said, was still pretty bad and there's a reason he wanted to switch to sentinel by 2024

buddy ever pro player and fan rated that team as the best in Americas before the season started, the whole team was very eye catching. It was C9's (who had just qualified to champs and won a few matches the year before) best three players and then you add the ESPORTS player of the year, not even Valorant, best player in all of esports, as well as zellesis who had has best year on V1 and was just coming off of performing very well subbing for SEN in lcq.

People only rated c9 that highly because of yay lol, I remember people saying NRG would also be very good because of ardiis (who also had a decent chamber year), then he turned out to be NRGs worst player. same with c9. people dont pay attention to other players sadly.

You got good reasonings I agree that I'm probably being too hindsight but still lol

I agree, I thought 100T was better going to be better than them anyways and never thought that highly of them since I didn't ever think vanity was good. I just remember the whole community and especially other pros saying they have the biggest super team ever.

You legit said they didn’t qualify for anything. Like no shit they didn’t play after lock in 😭😭😭✌️✌️

Yeah and they made the correct decision dropping half the roster was my point lol

Dropping that roster to be the only team to not qualify for any internationals in americas was definitely not the right decision. They had leaf xeppaa and zellsis on one team and tried to say they had role issues. Lmao you’re braindead.

They lost 0-3 to 100 thieves brotha, and also their roster was so dysfunctional

Talking about Red Bull home ground lmao. I can’t take sen fans seriously.

they only dropped half of the roster because they couldn't afford yay anymore. Bad financing.

They said it was role issues in a video yet we knew it was a lie. My point is the org is ran horribly

yeah I agree, also them siding with zellsis at the end of the year and hiring Immi over keeping mCe who did insane work for them that whole year was stupid. They consistently have put full faith into Immi and zellsis and they might need to realize its time to move on.

This is a casual take ngl. Chamber was definitely his signature agent, but he was also a top-tier Jett

#22

I mean, going into 2023, yay was one of the best players itw, leaf had been really strong for years, xeppaa and zellsis were really solid players, and vanity was a decent igl.

Obv looking at it from today's perspective, they're not good, but they were supposed to be one of the best teams with that roster

#8

but Chamber got nerfed and Vanity was vanity

they were immediately better with the budget roster that followed

#9
cameran

Frags

I mean yeah but the roster already had so much problems. They lost 0-3 in the off season to 100t, where their roster wasn't even that good either lol. Of course it's off season so you can argue it doesn't mean much, but for a "superteam" like what some people I've seen consider, C9 were wayyy overrated even during that time

#6

They broke that roster up before they even had a chance to show anything. Roster was definitely decent

I think I can confidently say that they are not going to maintain their partnership with Riot anymore.

Despite their sales and fanbase, their performances have just been abysmal.

I don't know if it's been a coaching problem or a core-players problem (Xeppa, Zellsis, and maybe Penny). They have just become a "vibes" team.

The only core players atp are xeppaa and oxy. Its uncomfortable to say because of his fragging potential, but Oxy has failed to win over and over again

The kid has so much potential, I just don't think that C9 has been the team for him lately or ever really.

No idea what is wrong with this team, but I want to see them win so bad. As a childhood C9 fan, it hurts to see them lose this much.

I do think they need to have a serious re-evaluation of the coaching staff and players. There is so much Tier 2 talent around lately and I cannot wait for a lot of them to get picked up. https://x.com/AkamaruVal/status/2043414097447014790?s=20

riot doesn't care about performances. Also, they have been a mid/top half team regionally literally every single split and tournament. They just choke in playoffs usually or lose to the best teams.

#37

Riot has claimed this, but it's a blatant lie.

Performances = Viewership
Viewership = Revenue
Revenue = Stipends / Salaries
Stipends / Salaries = Incentive to perform

I agree , Riot will kick any team who is broke and have no money , but however C9 has a good fanbase and brand from other esports its just their val team is complete dogshit

Exactly. I'll admit, I've wanted to see this org succeed so bad since franchising. But they are so utterly shit...

lmfao the ceo of C9 or whoever gave the green light literally set C9 back into the stone ages by letting tenz go to sentinels aka let sen buy him out , and proceeded to not getting anything worth from that other than money ofc

#47
haupt0

Frags

Interesting, I didn't know that. But yeah, I think it's prob a lie and C9's performances and fanbase are enough to keep them in anyways. I would be much more worried about being kicked if I was EG or ENVY
