if you're wondering, the reason they brought in Autumn was likely because of EDG's history with a playstyle identitiy crisis. They went from coordinated PRX style, to trying to copy NRG, to fnatic, to VERY VERY slow fnatic (shanghai where they got destroyed by loud), to a mix of both (champs) - which stopped working after meta changes (yoru etc)
Autumn is quite familiar with EDG when they played that first style (PRX-ish) because he played against them quite a lot then (this is like around 2022 East Asia LCQ). This EDG actually looked very strong (could go toe to toe with top teams, like PRX who just came 2nd globally at the previous event) then but they were huge chokers, and Autumn we know to be the guy who just says 'shoot better' prob understood that he was quite fit to try and bring that EDG back (which makes sense with the CB pickup for firepower) and prioritised putting his players in positions to get kills. Now we've seen that this backfired horribly because the EDG players were making horrible solo plays like every round 💀
Atp I dont know if Autumn genuinely doesnt understand macro at the same level as most coaches do or if he chooses to ignore it, either way he needs to change his approach cause this is like the worst EDG has looked in the past 2 years internationally (regionally their corrode and bind strats were actually cooking tho tbf, maybe just need more time to work on maps, esp given language barrier). Also I don't think Nobody fundamentally understands macro either (and tries to copy it instead from others), I think signed (their new analyst) will help them a lot in this aspect, his YT channel is full of gold
