Do you regret putting so many hours into the game? Or any other competitive game really. I'm talking 2 or 3k+ hours at least. Like, thinking what if I'd spent that time grinding something else instead? Something more worthwhile?

Or is it not that deep?

What about when it stops being fun? Realizing you put that many hours into something you just have to discard like that. So many hours spent trying and grinding

asc3 maybe a medium-high

Kind of? Playing soloQ is exhausting and a generally awful experience imo i hate it but 5 stacking is great which is what i do most of the time now. or prem or 10mans

I could have grinded a more "useful" life skill as you say but i'd rather spend my life doing things that are enjoyable, as long as the rest of my life/income/personal stuff is sustainable. i dont see 5 stacking with friends any different to someone going out to the bar/club with their mates instead

grinding 6+ hours/day is a different story i did briefly to fast rank up when i was new but i had a great time doing that so 0 regret there. ranking up super fast also kinda gave me confidence (outside the game) in a way too

whether it's "that deep" or not depends on your values really. if you're someone who wants to focus super hard on grinding irl accolades and numbers then yeah it's stupid. if you want a more balanced life then having fun non-productive hobbies that serve as a distraction from irl stress is useful for mental health

i got 9k in csgo, maybe 5-6k in valorant and i dont consider them wasted. i made great friends, many that ive know for over 10 years and i got to experience things like playing on lans, bootcamping and just competing overall. i learnt things about myself, what i can and cannot handle under pressure, and to a complete shut-in like me it was a way to learn communicating and working with ppl. also made me realize just how much it takes to get to the very top at anything, even though i didnt have it in me.
but my experience is different from an average high elo player since i mostly played in teams all those hours and not only ranked
