I know all the oll and pll's but my f2l is horrible how do i get efficient in f2l like making pairs while doing cross and shit
Did you guys watch videos

try and figure out your cross and first f2l move during inspection, then keep on looking for the other pairs while solving cross; this is what worked for me even though i haven't cubed for 2 years now (pb - 14.56 seconds)

theres a few small algorithms for f2l solutions that i used to get sub 20 secs

i can do it in an hour by watching a youtube tutorial

and that's based.

i mean it depends on the problem.
if you find yourself pausing a lot between pairs, then improve the look ahead, try slower tps, make sure you can one look your cross during inspection, prioritize look ahead then gradually increase the tps once you get comfortable. you might get a slow time at first but its better in the long run.
if you find yourself doing unnecessary moves, learn some f2l algs, stop doing u3s, etc.

For me mostly when i make non yellow crosses the pairs get harder for me to spot cause my mind is so used to spotting yellow pieces. And like i no the most efficient way to.solve a piece but can't do it when I'm actually doing timed solves

How fast are you / how fast are you trying to be? I average like 13s, but I never even learned full OLL so I don’t know how much help I’d be to you. I didn’t watch videos for F2L, but I feel like if you have good look-ahead and lots of practice with different scenarios then it becomes pretty instinctive. I prefer building an intuitive sense for cross/F2L through slower solves over memorizing anything.

how did you reach 13 seconds without full oll? i had to learn all the algorithms of oll and pll to push from 20s to 15s average

Probably just higher TPS and more fluidity in the transitions? I think full PLL is very valuable, but I’ve put off OLL for so long now cause I knew I’d shave off more time by improving my recognition and execution.

I'm trying to be sub 10 i avg around 12-14 on like 5 solves but can't get any lower than that

I used beginner's method for like a year and my PR with that method is like 45 sec (absolutely bullshit i know) and then when I tried learning f2l, my avg solving time dropped to like 1 min 20 sec my brain just couldnt do it and then I just learned 4x4 (I forgot now) and just called it quits on cubing

i think it must be due to not doing cfop i guess, in general f2l is the last thing to learn as you learn cross and oll, pll first

oh actually nvm It was cfop only, I said f2l by mistake mb

ah, well switching the modes actually slows you down quite a bit and it needs grinding to improve, the same happened with me as well but i just grinded due to a lot of free time
