valyn. though aspas is aspas, an igl like valyn is harder to find. i can think of 5 other duelists who can do what aspas does just as well, if not more consistently.
If I’m HC Aspas, since finding a duelist that could fit multiple systems is necessary

Derke is the closest overall but last year was so forgettable that it's hard to tell
Overall the only one I will accept is Derke and maybe Jemkin in the near future
I don't think you realize how insanely dominant Aspas is, especially regionally but even in terms of his champs form which is imo an unmatched run all time

I will admit, Aspas's highs are VERY high, but so are Zekken's, T3xture's, and Kaajak's. I'm not claiming any of these players are discreetly better than Aspas; I'm just stating that they can all do Aspas's role just as well. I can tell you that texture, kaajak, and jemkin are all more consistent than aspas, though.
On the other hand, I can barely even think of 3 IGLs that can do what Valyn is doing right now. Munchkin, Verno, and Ethan are the only players that I could confidently say are close or equal to Valyn.

recency bias is so strong. aspas had a strong season in 23-24 throughout the season so i dont consider him mid. however, when he was on MIBR last year, he was just doing alright the entire season until champs so i consider that mid.

it's way easier to get one of the top fragging igls itw and pair them with a decent duelist than have aspas with a black hole for IGL mechanically

If I was in Americas, I'd take Valyn igl (Valyn is best igl in Americas IMO, and I'm not sure if I would have space for an import IGL if I took Aspas).
