As of today, my mouse has suddenly began double clicking sometimes when I single click.

To make sure it wasn't just my pc, I hooked it up to my laptop and it did the same thing. For now, I downloaded a "Double-click fix" software to my pc that seems to have temporarily resolved the issue, however it's still a problem.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

I will tell you now, it's a Logitech G305 and I've had it since April 2022

Lasting 4 years might just be the reason, my last mouse lasted only 3 years :(

Might be a driver issue. Update it, or maybe you got some stuff inside your mouse. I would clean it but yea it might be cooked for you sadly

OKAY: Based upon popular opinion, I'll get a new mouse. I would prefer getting one $100 or under

What is your recommendation?

EDIT: felt like making a whole new thread was unnecessary

Its a logitech mouse after a lot of use
Their switches are known to fail, so getting 4 years out of em is realistically about as much as you can expect

If you really like the mouse/cant afford a new one (aint a cheap one after all), then either stay with your current fix (software that adds a debounce after actuation), try out one of the macros youll commonly find on google ("Software Fix Double Click Logitech Mouse" -> macro to artificially create a debounce e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/G502MasterRace/comments/j47bxb/logitech_gaming_g502_mouse_double_clickdrag_issue/) or open up the mouse and replace the affected switch yourself (no clue about availability nowadays)
