Bro their management must be having room temperature iq

For the ppl who dont know VCT pros can go thru
P-1A and the O-1A

P-1A is specifically for athletes in internationally recognized competitions. P-1A is specifically for athletes in internationally recognized competitions. Stuff like participation in Masters, Challengers, or Champions events . Helps them a lot cuz media outlets like Sheep Esports , Dextro ,VLR etc cover this stuff so that itself helps and fast tracks their VISA approval .

All of KRU's players qualify for this visa

O-1A has a higher bar where they want elite / ppl with extraordinary abilities in their fields aka in valorant terms Masters , Champions or EWC winner / MVP or consistent placing high in these events . Again media coverage from Sheep Esports , Dextro and VLR help quite a bit in fast tracking the process .

Players like Less and Saadhak qualify for this VISA .

Teams can also avail premium processing which costs 2.5K/player to reduce the wait time from 2-3 months to 15 days .

My guess is KRU applied for work / business visas which fucked them up .

bro how braindead does the management have to be to hire a visa agency thats the first thing .
Secondly how braindead does the agency have to be to send in the wrong documents .

They said it was the same agency they hired years before and didn't have any issues.

I guess they won't be hiring them anymore but how can you blame trusting someone that has a reliable and proven track record?

There's just so much they can manage when handing these things to third parties, anyways S00DH0K kekeke.

bro like idk if ts is comparable but like for my last 2 trips which were in India and Bhutan I did the visa work for me and my parents . Like me (a stupid teenager) can get this visa shit sorted . KRU's management themselves can get this shit sorted without a fucking Agency . Like ik getting into the US is a lil harder as compared to India and Bhutan but still tho .

I mean, it’s not as easy as you might think, bro. I used to do this kind of work alongside the company lawyers where I work. It seems easy for someone based in the U.S. because we usually complain about how awful these kind of processes sometimes are, but it’s nothing compared to South American and Central American countries. When we tried issuing a work visa for a foreign transfer coming from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, or Colombia, we usually had to rely on these kind of agencies because some of the documents that have to be requested from the worker’s country of origin are hard to get even for them as locals. These agencies are usually experienced in the know-how to get these processes expedited, and they’re known by local government bodies, so usually the process is smoother.

I can’t imagine how hard it might be for them to get this issued as a foreign organization—especially now with all the recent immigration law changes so it's probably an agency oversight, a new employee or simply lazy work just at the worst timing for them.

there is always 1 americas team that tries to cheap out on the visa process and as a result gets insane delays

it honestly did not surprise me to hear that their full roster was not going to play kick off at all

its not even cheaping out just submit ur fucking documents to the embassy and for VCT players which have media coverages like Dextro , Sheep Esports and VLR to like uk help them with media coverage for these visas there are no excuses for KRU like genuinely .

Stuff like participation in Masters, Challengers, or Champions events

Is that even confirmed? I asked Sideshow ~2 years back (when he was telling his story about him getting stuck without visa) and he didnt know at the time (more open question if he knew that the sports specific visas were a viable option)

That being said thats INDIVIDUAL athletes; meaning Kru have 3 players who dont fall under that criteria should the above events be sufficient

Regardless of visa, the "we require more evidence" chain can drag on for like forever if you roll the resident snail at the visa office

Id def be interested for them (or just any americas team struggling with visas) to shed some light on their troubles though
It'd be very... unfortunate... if they just applied for the wrong visa
Just cant imagine it though given that this is the 4th year now

bro u didnt get me like by Masters , Challengers and Champions events I'm referring to previous participation in those events

Btw all of KRU's player qualify for the P1A visa cuz Silentzz and Dante played in challengers , Ascension and in VCT

Mwzera also played in VCT for 2.5 years and

Saadhak and less have played in masters , champions and VCT americas so ya

Hence they qualify under the O1A category too

It has to be that the agency applied for work / business visas which is notorious for taking a long time for processing so ya .

like ever since 9/11 the US made it harder to get visas .
Like my dad immigrated from india in '99 it took him 3 weeks to get an H1B visa aka the standard work visa for foreign nationals . My mom (also indian) immigrated to the US in '03 like it took her 8 months for her visa to be processed and she got into the country 3 months later after clearing everything .

Even when the US had stricter immigration policies in the 60s and 50s like the visa processing would take 2 weeks to sort everything out .

My question was specifically if those events are recognized. So if we have any sources that confirm valorant events being eligible to use for that criteria.
(Or if theres another criteria in that visa that applies, e.g. by a pro confirming that this is the visa they received)

Considering how long Kru went without issue, they were probably used to just applying for normal work visas considering that was working for the old roster. The government shutdown probably makes it a bit harder as well. That and all the recent immigration law changes thanks to a certain someone, it's a nightmare to get a visa in general right now, let alone for an esports tournament. Considering how good they've been in the past and the circumstances they're in, I don't exactly blame them.

bro I clarified the VISA laws on this thread
https://www.vlr.gg/post/6015009/usa-visa-ban-clarifications

US visas got incredibly harder to attain after 9/11 check the last 2 paragraphs of #16

The governement shutdown did not affect the visa processing stuff . Also KRU made the mistake of applying normal work visas cuz the work visa thing was always pretty hard to get since 9/11 . VCT players can avail athlete visas which I talked abt in this post which are not affected by the new visa laws .

As someone who's gotten multiple visas denied thanks to the shutdown, it definitely has some effect on it.

Yeah, visas are approved by a government department! primarily the Department of State or the DOS. They're supported by the Department of Homeland Security, and the department of labor helps with the work visas. All of which, need government funding and support in order to run.

I thought some parts including the immigration part of the DOS was working

Working, yes! Working well and just like they were before the shutdown? FUck no! Even then, you need the department of Homeland Security and labor for some things, and then theres all of the departments that get that information where it needs to be. Those workers also aren't getting paid, so a majority of them had to find more work, or are working at much lower speeds. THese departments are working, but it's unstable, slow, and causes things like visa issues for our favorite valorant players, or prevents a father from going across the country to attend a meeting and support his family
