it's funny how

every Valorant Champion team gets dismantled when they could easily win another championship

as an org, it doesn't make sense because you're not gonna win again. as a player, it doesn't make sense for your legacy. it doesn't make sense for the game's state either because sometimes it feels like any random team could win Champions if the other team is having an off day.

I really don't know what reason anyone could possibly have to change a winning roster with absolutely no issues

acend just did bad in 2022 i think

I forgot about Acend

but they were the first Champions, people kind of didn't know how to play the game back then and as more players joined the e-sports scene, Acend's players suddenly were not the best

I'm talking about teams like Loud, NRG or Gen G

at least that made sense

but maybe he could've won even more tournaments if he stayed with Gen G

I agree, but as an org owner these moves make no sense sometimes, specially in e-sports

you waste a player's prime sending them to a just decent team, they don't perform as well and suddenly neither you nor the other team wins anything, which causes a random team to win

I would say something here but maybe you don't deserve to read it

imagine if a specific team made a specific roster/region change that turned them into one of the worst teams in the world...

A team wins champs, usually an org with money that didn't do well or think they could do better come get your best players and you can't keep them all because they're all gonna get big offers since they're "the best in the world".

I thought about this, but as a player do you choose more money than you're already being paid or a legacy?

because like, it isn't like you're being paid $5 and suddently you're getting paid 5 million dollars

so I understand it, you want more money, but is it really worth it if it's not that big of a difference and you know you're probably not going to win again?

maybe I don't fully understand it because I'm not a pro

Yeah it is sad to see team break after champs win but it is what it is and a mysterious curse will be broken at some point

Simply put its really about money (players get a bag somewhere else or team is trying to cut costs)
Teams are also never guaranteed to win, something I love about this game is how many new teams have lifted trophies and how hard it is to create a dynasty given all the meta shifts every few months. This makes teams actually think how worth it is to keep expensive players.

valid reasoning, but that also increases the chances of fluke trophies, where teams who won games by sheer luck can be Champions instead of teams who lost because of a small mistake

and if the best teams still had their best rosters, this wouldn't happen and we would have always the best teams on top, even if it wasn't the same team everytime

Usually it's because the players got big salary offers the same happens in other games like LoL otherwise it just doesn't make sense but once you win one time you feel like you can relax a little in a sense

#17

that makes sense, but then you also have a chance of never winning again

True it depends on how you feel after accomplishing what would likely be your dream

You say this but EG is really the only one that has really been dismantled. EDG was initially the same and only changed because of the s1mon crash-out, Loud retained three of their five players, acend arguably replaced their two worst players, and NRG only lost a single player.

I'm talking about teams post-Acend

Loud - Sacy was one of their best players, I'd say he was Loud's second best player
EDG - I forgor
NRG - s0m was very important, but we'll see what happens now

EG - shit management
EDG - internal issues with s1mon
NRG - s0m chose to leave to pursue his streaming career

in most cases they would try to retain their champs winning roster

NRG - yeah... I wanna see if they can have as much success with Keiko, he's great too

Acend = didn't immediatly dismantle
Loud = "Only" Sacy and Pancada left for their own reasons, still got top three twice
EG = Org's fault (money issues)
EDG = didn't immediatly dismantle
NRG = only S0m left cause he retired

so idk other than EG there wasn't a true dismantle in any org

LOUD - if Sacy didn't leave they would win again, they got top three because cauanzin was cracked too, if they got a random initiator they would be top 5 probably

Acend - plumbers era let's be honest

EDG - I forgot about EDG

NRG - I think s0m was one of their most important players, but we'll see how this affects them, Keiko is very good too

okay guys maybe "dismantled" is not the right word, I'm talking about negatively impactful roster changes

i know PRX are not world champions but they are probably the best example of the point you are trying to make

yeah, they basically kept their core for idk how many years and when some changes finally worked they dropped PatMen
