Faker is clearly number 1, but is ZywOo already number 2? Considering everything, it's hard to argue against it IMO, and at this pace he could eventually become number 1 in terms of achievements and dominance, though obviously not in influence. It's insane to think that since his debut he has been HLTV’s number 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 3, and will probably be 1 again this year. That is absolutely crazy given how hard it is to stay at the top in a game as competitive as CS. He is still only 25, probably has many years left, and he is now at his peak..

Nah you're underplaying magnus's chess achievements. The fact that he was able to beat the world top players when he was 13 is beyond impressive. And chess is a game where as more time passes, the more harder is gets to be at the top. The fact that magnus carlsen dominated the game for so long and only lost the title as "World Chess Champ" because he refused to take part in it is impressive. Even though Russia as a whole is declining, magnus defeated some of the greatest russian (&other) chess players. Even today if he wants to compete for the world chess champ (in classical) he could win it. The second best player (Hikaru Nakamura) himself acknowledges that magnus is miles ahead of him btw.

Hikaru is considered the best blitz player. He has qualified to multiple candidates tournaments. His rating is consistently 2800+ (in classical). Who do you think is the 2nd best player?
And even if he isnt the second best player, he is a top 5 player and surely his words carry weight

all 5 of magnus' classical championships have been back to back, and he has multiple other accolades; world rapid, world blitz, and counting; chess is harder than league, different game modes different strategies, lots of memorization for openings, calculation for middlegame and endgames, test of endurance during classical games
also you are forgetting league is a team sport so its not one man vs the world, for the last few years faker hasn't been the best player on t1, not saying he was carried but he was not the absolute best when winning these titles magnus on the other hand is still no 1 in rating when he doesn't even compete for the world championship

F0rest was a top 2 1.6 player all time and at his peak he was the best in the world. The reason Zywoo has 3x the mvps is because there only are mvp awards from GO. What f0rest did in 1.6 is comparable to what zywoo has done in his entire career. The thing that makes f0rest greater than zywoo is that he was a top 20 GO player for multiple years as well and he made like 5 major finals, went 87-0, and also won a major

considering chess was at ewc, if it is considered as an esport(it is more of a sport than esport imo); magnus would be the undisputed no 1, his level of dominance despite so being in a generation of so many talented players is really outstanding
