sometimes replacing key players with others can lead to a higher degree of success (pancada -> zellsis and mindfreak -> patmen)

we wont know until next year really if this was a good for g2, but truthfully if they werent gonna win an international this upcoming year, a roster change was inevitable. they are definitely a top 8 team in the world and dominate domestically, but they choked every international this year and last.

maybe they needed a vibes guy like what zellsis did for sen. also we dunno what happens inside the team, maybe leaf wanted to get off senti and play flex, who knows.

it definitely does suck for jonah though because dude is one of the best flex players in the game, man can truly do it all. wouldve been a lot better if this had happened a few weeks ago before most NA rosters were finalized and he could hop to c9, sen, 100t, or any other teams. hopefully hes able to get a shot after split 1.

good point but pretty bad examples
sen were pretty shit 2023 and prx were starting to fall off and needed a change, while G2 was a top team all year including making an international GF and winning every domestic GF

even tho mibr zekken is basically confirmed at this point imagine G2 benched jonah to try and snipe zekken jawg zekken would be a disgusting lineup with too much flexibility between those two

but G2 putting jonahP on reserve looks desperate like they know they won't get a better flex in americas at least but they are still trying to if leaf is going to flex they MAYBE get a better main senti but that is highly unlikely unless some talented freak duelist of nature picks it up aswell and as fast as leaf its probably not gonna happen

and i highkey think leaf fails on flex his deadlock was ass if i a remember correctly and deadlock is lowkey a litmus paper for flex players all the good flex players can run deadlock

g2 was extremely successful domestically, but 2nd, 4th, and 8th at internationals is a slow decline of their dominance. they were great at the end of 2024, and choked at champs. then they had a great start of the year with jawg and in the tejo meta, and slowly declined. yes they were winning domestically and most of the time very easily, but lets be honest, americas last year had pretty much only had 3 maybe 4 other competitive teams. a change was inevitable.

jawg and zekken wouldve been like xset on crack. that wouldve been crazy to see.

i agree, i think g2 will still do well, but because of the late move in the offseason theres not really any other talent to replace his shoes.

Not enough sample size. You just mentioned two teams who were successful there’s others who didn’t
