tbf when woot played viper previously i thought it was good, even if he played a little psycho (im thinking their viper on split specifically) but it was obviously something they HAD trouble with even before THIS champs because of their role swaps to move him to omen on lotus at LAST champs, it was covered up early 2024 because with either iteration with pati they had a flex player that not only was comfy on viper but it was arguably his best agent, and i think those slower more methodical comps suit boos calling much more, he likes to take big pauses in rounds and rty and force the other team to react/overreact to the presence they have made, vipers passive pressure makes this significantly easier, and if they arent doing that slower more methodical style they need to lean into heavy prep set strat based attack sides where they rely on overwhelming people with util and mechanical skill, which they CAN do, but when games get close and set prep runs out boo defaults back to that slower calling style and if the comp is set up for set strats and NOT for slower methodical map control it means the calling looks awful, because you get champs 2024 where EDG walk reclear every time TH make pressure because there is no viper wall threatening someone having crossed or no threat of an op holding them because the team just didnt op very often, leaning into comeback chamber with benjy playing a LOT of viper this year is genuinely a great answer to both of these problems, they were obviously experimenting with comps at TEN and i didnt like any of the comps EXCEPT the split comp, which i actually think is a really strong idea they can lean into on other maps, maybe also trying veto in some situations i could actually see comeback or woot playing a lot of the agro senti role this year
