my incoherent rant
you dont have to read it or reply to it, i just feel i need to open up about it, i didnt know where though so i chose here
in summary: i might have passed, yet i feel like i failed

but why am i still disappointed with my performance?
am i putting to much pressure on myself to keep up?
Why do i try my best if the outcome i constantly achive the worst passing grade in that subject?
why is it my worst subject if its the language i use the most?
the subject im talking about is german
i seem to have hit a roadblock...
when i think im passed it, it knocks me down again, messes up my confidence
makes me feel worthless
but why..? it doesnt have to be like this... it shouldnt be like this...
but it just feels so defeating

im sorry for troubling you all with this

Maybe, but the German language is so unique, in it having a long and complicated History with many major Events and influences on our Society. The only languages I could imagine something like this in are Chinese, Italian or French.

Also I wonder what question or problems do you usually have problems with or is it just the entire language?

I often cant seem to find the meaning in Texts like poems. That seems to be much easier in english i.e. I mostly struggle with creating a fictional red thread to hold onto while writing an Analysis.

I‘m in uni right now studying English to become a vocational school teacher, and I can assure you that the stuff you get in high school is purposefully not too difficult because its just the second language. If you really look into poems and literature in general, it gets equally complex.

idk, that's the thing
you think you did everything right, grammar, citations and the analysis, but when you get the exam back, it feels like you are met with a big red wall highlighting every single error, and it feels crushing

For me, as a foreigner whose mother tongue is Russian, probably building sentences was the biggest issue. In russian I can freestyle the connections, and building a long sentence is easy for me. But when I try this in German, it turns into a minefield

Sadly a big part of Upper Grade German is Arts. Language has always been an art but its not treated as such. To perform is this subject you need talent just like you need in Music or Graphic arts

Honestly, as someone who was thrusted into the German Education System, I had almost no troubles with anything, but German was so frustrating. I have been grinding German before SA, I do everything correctly, then I get hit with a full wall of red and the teachers just said ignore the grammar, focus on the theory.

and we dont need to talk about the german education system...
I feel like we have a real shitty way of structuring education all around the world and when I see another Overheadprojektor I might need to fight an MMA fight against it.
