can someone explain why is there only one team ascending from americas and china but 2 teams from emea and pacific? I didn't bother to look it up

G2 made it to champs so they are protected from relegation
2G did not make top 8 so they are out

APK & M8 did not make top 8 so they are out

NS & BOOM made top 8 but not champs so they will fight in Ascension

XLG & DRG both made champs and placed the same but XLG did better regionally so they kept their spot, and DRG fought in Ascension and won

Americas: 1 team relegated ->1 spot available
Apac: 2 teams relegated -> 2 spots available
Cn: 1 team relegated-> 1 spot
Etc...
