We will even not have an ascention winner, this indeed hilarious, they did change the format and managed to do worse it's hilarious
And it's not even a "time problem", if that was the case the solution would be easy :
Instead of 2 BO5 on 2 days, just do :
- Day 1 : #1 vs #1 BO3 winner is top 1,
- Day 1 : #2 vs #2 loser is out
- Day 2 : #2win vs #1lose loser is out
but that is a "time problem"
because you now doubled the days you need full staff on stage
(or youre qualifying a team to t1 without it being on stage; which is what they wanted to avoid)
edit: wait nvm I somehow missed that they DID double the days
yea just expanding to a 8 team double elim instead of the 2x 4 team double elim is a trivially easy fix to make the bracket look normal
Exactly, that would basically be a double looser bracket, it would have been perfect and doesnt add any day of competition

(basically what Anguibok proposed is to just turn it into a 8 team double elim and remove the grand finals -> so day 2 would be the normal bo5 "lower finals")
because there is no seperate playoffs
just pretend the entire tournament is playoffs (which it is) and that its a 2x 4-team double elim bracket; then the bracket will stop looking as weird
(done for money reasons since they only had the budget for 1 day on stage... and then both ascension teams decided to shit the bed and get themselves relegated)
nvm^ turns out they ended up doubling the days anyways... not sure how they ended up with this format then xD
