blaming riot because you have shit management and your content is mid </3

also acting like m8 wanted this and not riot is crazy, might be money hungry from riot but their job is to make money, and theres no competitive factor when comparing m8/koi (m8 has way better talent under contract btw and has built better rosters)

koi were given a partnership slot for their viewership potential, M8 got to VCT by winning, something KOI never did

so much cope, if you hired someone to write code and he can't write it, but your assistant can, why would you not fire the bum who can't code

koi is genuinely the least deserving of partnership of any team across apac/amer/emea - atleast furia was good pre-franchising/2023

I mean you bring up some half decent points but still kicking KOI out is absolutely crazy without even a proper public reason. The main idea of a franchising is to have stability with teams and orgs knowing that they will maintain their spot for a designated time period. KOI not only invested a lot into their team but also created an ascension team just to show riot that they were willing to invest, alongside the fact that they also had very high viewership and only kind of dipped when the costreamers were facing health issues. You can't control if your team will do good or not but they at least tried to pick up players to have a chance at competing no matter how bad they were in that season.

Not inviting them after the reevaluation in 2027 is understandable if riot wants someone instead of them but kicking them out now is actually crazy.

tbf, it's a weird line to walk on

but there's also likely more to it, riot has typically been calculated in these matters, and KOI is in LEC (where they try a lot harder) so they wouldn't do what you're implying imo

I just think it's weird to first come at M8 or Riot without looking at KOI's failures first. Before orgs worry about unfairness (it might be rash, but unfair it isn't) they should be reflecting on better management and content strategies

i didn't even say anything opinionated

simply too much crying about m8 as if this wasn't something that riot did themselves

if you get fired from ur job because you don't show up for work, why are u blaming the guy who replaced you and not yourself for not going to work lol

At least many know who was giving the 7-5 bro chill koi is gone no more to hate about them but if they win ascension with their academy team it will be incredible sight to watch

Saying that they should be kicked out because they didnt do what they should have is fine but attacking their fans is weird asf

m8 cried and whined and threatened to pull out of valorant despite the fact they were consistently shit (somehow worse than koi despite having better talent), and rito being the money hungry morons they are couldn’t let their cash cow go so they tried to find anything to keep them from leaving

but at least now we know rito plays favorites and m8 will be the golden child who will just be another koi: continue to be garbage but get away with it because they are partnered and make rito money

so they traded their broken cash cow koi for an actual cash cow m8 and you're confused?

there was no m8 crying or whining, that was ibai you watched cry

m8 owners didn't threaten to pull out of valorant, they DID pull out of valorant lol

Koi still pulled more numbers than most orgs in the league and had actual costreamers who pulled tens of thousands of viewers,

m8 had like 8 more viewers and rito decided to pull the plug on koi because m8 threw a hissy fit and rito saw they made more money LMAOOOOO

rito literally had to dig deep for anything to break a contract so that they could beg m8 to come back and continue to be mid just so they can have more money LMAOOAOLAOAKAK

not a single thing you've said is true so far

just emotional because an org with an innovative structure and actual profitability is staying and not an org who's only value is ibai and ibai isn't there..

just throwing insults instead of being happy that riot is being proactive and caring about the future of the scene..

the future of the scene is replacing mid with mid i guess

neither koi or m8 have done anything special in the league and it’s likely that will continue to be the case, the effect this will have on the scene is inconsequential in the long run and didn’t merit this crazy of a response because ibai didn’t costream and instead someone else did

m8 innovates just to continue to be bad. they’re just another koi but with a little more cash, and they had plenty of chances to prove otherwise with several different rosters but they couldn’t

wdym inconsequential? they are the 2nd most viewed team and 3rd in bundles?

either way, I think most people understand that it's harder for ascension teams to compete, especially after full rebuilds - KOI had three full years of safety to attract talent, m8 had one split and still built a nice roster, its just a shame that there's so much pressure on rookies - and good experienced players like Leo would never consider an ascension roster

m8 had two seasons and did nothing with them, exactly what koi did. also koi brings in plenty of spanish viewership so at most m8 brings in a couple thousand more.

so now to keep an org with an active fanbase they now cut a team also with an active fanbase and now two bum orgs will be allowed in the league

also teams like BBL and NAVI are proof that having no time to build rosters isn’t an excuse, they both practically built from scratch and have had actual results, m8 just threw away their chance and are now being rewarded for it lmaooooooo

navi and bbl did not have 4 rookies and kamyk as the most experienced

also, we had to play with an ascension roster 2024 then in 2025 it became a count down to stay up in VCT so the pressure was there, it's very rare for a pure ascension roster to compete

even G2 needed leaf, and eventually jawgemo - insane pickups btw..

ima just chalk this up to you not understanding the numbers but the gap between koi and m8 is bigger than you think

i know how big m8 is, i just don’t like they’re given preferential treatment for being that big when for two years they’ve done nothing to merit being in the league outside of being big

even if koi was a small org and m8 grew to league T1 level, it’s still scummy that rito looked for any excuse to boot someone out just so they wouldn’t lose their cash cow

idgaf if m8 is bigger, they had two years to do something with your slot and they did nothing despite having insane talent, and yet somehow they’re being rewarded for being worse than the team they’re replacing 😭😭😭 make it make sense, there’s no stability to be had in an org that posts equally terrible results, except for bundle sales

This is more me thinking rito sucks than me thinking m8 doesn’t deserve a slot (they do, just not the way they earned it because they were ass for two years)

I get your point, but I do think you're being a bit harsh since KOI were given a slot for the same reasons you think M8 were, except that M8 actually qualified on merit first, then proved that they were also more valuable than KOI.

I'd prefer if giantx was trash and KOI were in champs, that way there would be no debate - but sadly ara is thanos

im sorry but even if you think koi have a shit managment this just set a terrible precedent for the scene, if you think koi is doing a bad job kicked them out when you said you would evaluate the contracts, 2027.

Yeah m8 could wait one more year than riot doing this shitty work and replacing a team while we are almost reaching 2027 reevaluations
