idk if anyone remembers this but koi mismanagement was a topic that wasn't given the attention it really should've had a while ago, the more shocking stuff was more on their lol team but i would not be surprised if more behind the scenes stuff that haven't been uncovered was the reason for them to be removed from vct but who knows

yes im truly not convinced that bundle sales or viewership was the main reason they were kicked given they have a history of incompetency even with their lol team like cmon

Are you really blaming koi? Riot just wanted M8 for more sales and viewership so they kicked koi.
Koi was bad but atleast give them warning and also do the same for other regions of they are really taking performance as a factor

When BLEED got kicked out of VCT, I read from esports people that its VERY hard to get kicked out of franchise, you must do some really fucked up shit to get to that point

There is no way KOI got kicked just because they suck at the game + no clout

If im not wrong, some koi fan could confirm, all the issues they had in that regard were bc of the international part of koi, things that they inherit from the first fusion I think. Now they were giving more value to people coming from movistar, they were in the beginning of actually changing things. Rising team was managed by this spanish faction but vct wasn't, i dont follow lol that much but i think is same there.

The real reason is that they need the M8, but this could be the De jure.
First rumor was about removing the BBL or FUT, but there's no single reason to do that.
