NRG vs C9 map vetos?

C9's map pool:

1. Icebox (2-0 this split against SEN and 100T, 2-3 in 2025)
2. Corrode (1-1 this split [lost to SEN, won against LEV], 1-1 in 2025)
3. Bind (2-0 this split against 2G and FUR, 2-0 in 2025)
4. Haven (3-2 this split [won against FUR, EG, 100T, and lost to SEN and LEV], 5-4 this year [counting EWC])
5. Lotus (3-3 this split [won against EG, 2G, LEV, lost to SEN twice and G2], 8-6 this year)
6. Ascent (0-1 this split against G2, 1-2 in 2025)
7. Sunset (unknown, haven't played this year)

NRG's map pool:

1. Lotus (3-0 this split against LEV, MIBR, and KRU, 6-4 in 2025)
2. Icebox (2-0 this split against LEV twice, 8-2 in 2025)
3. Corrode (2-0 this split against LOUD and G2, 2-0 in 2025)
4. Haven (2-1 this split [won against KRU and LOUD, lost to LEV], 6-3 in 2025)
5. Ascent (1-0 this split against LEV, 1-2 in 2025)
6. Bind (1-2 this split [won against MIBR, lost to 100T and G2], 2-3 in 2025)
7. Sunset (0-3 this split against 100T, KRU, G2, 0-4 in 2025)

Let's say C9 goes first. I think they will ban Lotus, it's very strong for NRG and they aren't too great on it (NRG's other better maps, Icebox/Corrode/Haven, are all comparatively stronger for C9.)
NRG will probably ban Bind. They could ban Sunset but C9 has basically been perma banning it, and their Sunset losses have been decently close. Bind on the other hand really doesn't look that convincing to me.
Then C9's pick. I think they will pick Icebox and take the fight to NRG, their new comp has been pretty interesting to say the least but they've won 2 (one against SEN) and lost none, and look good. NRG's Icebox has quietly been one of their best maps this year, with a 8-2 record counting EWC, so it should be a very entertaining battle.
NRG then faces an interesting choice. Their next best maps are Corrode and Haven imo, I don't think they'd pick Ascent given that C9 can play vyselock and just lock CT side first. This to me is a toss up but I think NRG is the type of team to play what they're a bit more comfortable with and go Haven.
C9 can then ban Corrode, Ascent, or Sunset. I think they'd ban Sunset honestly at this point and take a gander at one of the other ones. NRG would probably ban Ascent as they have done so more often.
Corrode is then the decider.

Final veto prediction:
C9 bans Lotus, NRG bans Bind
C9 picks Icebox, NRG picks Haven
C9 bans Sunset, NRG bans Ascent
Corrode remains

These two teams' map pools are more similar than I thought honestly. What are your thoughts? Who does this map veto favor?

If C9 have only lost to Sen and G2 this split on Lotus, and Sunset is usually their perma-ban...

Why would they not just first ban Sunset, is it because NRG is also dogshit at Sunset?

hmm.... NRG first banning Bind instead of Icebox would work in their favor. I agree that they could ban Sunset but C9 also does it. Maybe it'll be the decider lol

Nah c9 don't pick icebox they should have lost to 100t but they threw and now with 2 demos out of is easily antistrattable

nrg will ban bind unless bonkar is tweaking, the sunset against g2 was very winnable but ethan just cannot call on bind, it's the only map in the pool that c9 win 100%

NRG definitely ban bind...and their sunset was pretty good vs G2 so it's chill if C9 pick it ngl
