Correct so in Stage 2 the Playoffs Champ and Playoffs Runner-Up getting 7 and 5 Champ points is redundant.

You could give 3rd and 4th, 7 and 5 points instead. But then it would make stage 2 way more important than stage 1 so not sure they would want that.

they only matter for ascension teams
for example let’s say m8 are 8th in points and kc is right behind them
if kc wins stage 2, they get the 7 points and overtake m8, and m8 get relegated
