So why did they change the groups again? And how is it better than teams from Alpha group facing teams from Omega

I think you are confused. Last year Stage 1 it was Group Alpha vs Group Omega meaning the teams from alpha faced every team on Omega. And in Stage 2 the teams from both groups faced each other.
So I'm saying why not teams just face the teams from other groups this time too
