Since mid-2022 Fnatic has been one of the most consistent teams in Valorant history (if not the most consistent). But it got me thinking back to where it all started, Masters Reykjavik 2022. Now you might be thinking that it's absurd to say that, but remember FNC looked like a dominant force at the start of 2022, starting 6-0 to qualify for the event, before faltering against FPX and G2 in the playoffs. Given the group they were in, the talent of the event overall, and the lack of FPX (Visa issues), they were still favored to finish quite high... until Derke got COVID and BraveAF got suspended. This led to an 0-2 early exit against NIP and ZETA. The aftermath of the event led to 2 big changes. The signing of Enzo to the main roster (He was a stand in at Reykjavik, and top fragged for the team), and the signing of Alfajer, in place of BraveAF and MAGNUM. We all know what Alfajer has meant to the team, but even Enzo was a great add for Fnatic where he helped them to top 4 and 6 finishes at Copenhagen and Champs, respectively.
Imagine a world where FNC has both Derke and BraveAF play at the event and probably get a top 4 placement at the event. Would Fnatic even be close to the team we know today?
