i agree they should've waited but there's no reason for EWC to play it on the old patch when theres like three weeks to toronto and everyone is already preparing to the new patch lol

They do it because most tournaments just have a copy-paste rulebook where a patch only comes into play if its implemented 2 weeks+ before the first match, Tejo nerf happened 2-3 days ago.

If it was the other way around(current patch), teams would also complain that they didn't have time to practice with the new meta.

It sucks a bit more for MIBR/Aspas because they will play 10~ days after the nerf, but still, it is probably the right thing to do.
