its only this bad because the issues t2 have been facing has been ignored for so long. 2023 was a prime example of a healthy t2 scene.
the organizers cant english, observers used for certain games are AI and riot doesnt even use their main channel to promote t2 at all.
riot is doing fine in t2 in regions where t2 gets viewership
american fans just dont watch their region
viewership has been in decline but it was never this bad in NA. the decline in viewership could've been prevented.
at the end of the day its all in riot's hands. either have a cheater/mathfixing infested scene or riot can stand up and do something about it.

about 300 million people speak french and 1.5 billion speak english
france has twice the average viewership because the orgs are marketable and smart, streamers care about tier 2 here too

no money invested in t2 -> no interest
it’s a cycle, but the buck ultimately stops with riot, since the biggest things that can help T2 out are riot decisions, but they believe in having one franchised league that everything else is just a pipeline for.
in most sports lower leagues are a pipeline for the main competition
tier 2 is good in every region where fans show up to watch teams
there would be interest in tier 2 if orgs and players were entertaining
riot doesnt do anything you want them to do in france and french tier 2 is doing way better lol
just watch the games, if people dont watch tier 2 why complain, its not a irl stadium all you have to do is open twitch and watch

m80 sold okeanos and sato to lev and is apparently leaving the scene entirely.
ambrosia can't play with satellite due to admin decisions and miscommunication, so they have to play with the coach (as far as i know)
funhaver is just leaking stuff and people like zekken was in his chat talking about it.
franchising suck so bad, boring ass few events a year, and nobody cares about tier 2
viewership in t2 is cooked because its just boring for the average viewer. just straight online monotonous matches for nearly a year straight, then it only gets interesting around split 3 to see who makes ascension.
one of the reasons t2 somewhat works in cs is because t2/vrs points are used the whole year. seeing a team like wildcard being able to play in bigger events like EPL, the major, kato against bigger teams is intriguing.
i mean, theres a reason why people are interested to see how an ascension winning team like nongshim/2G would perform in T1 this year. however, we only get to see this once a year. maybe in an ideal system we would see more of this, which would hopefully incentivize the average viewer to see which new t2 team gets to play against an already familiar t1 team
do we have any guess which teams/match obviously cheated by match fixing? i mean it's just baseless allegation but there have to be some match where it's obvious
