definitely not the worst, but no tier 2 scene will just shorten the talent pool, I am sure vanity wasn't the last one to leave for cs
1st place at GC gets 180k
2nd place gets 100k
3rd place gets 70k
challenger leagues don't give money, regional leagues at GC do
i would guess the money in gc is far more concentrated where as the t2 has to spread it out
so you think some money is worth more than a shot at joining vct? i'd rethink that one
for the org or for the players?
for the org: Extreme Risk, High Reward for VCT Competition; Low Risk, Decent Reward for GC;.
for the player: Extreme Risk, Short Term Reward for VCT; Practically no Risk, great reward for GC;
If the players had the right to play a full year of VCT, then yes, it does make sense, but there is no rule which prevents them from just signing a completely new roster
Tier 2 just doesn't give any money throughout the season for those less fortunate to get to ascension. you have to compete a full year for 1 slot for an entire region just to play 1 year and maybe even get kicked for some tier 1 reject with ''experience''. Orgs won't join the league as well because the risk is so high, msot of the time the players are just a mix of players with no salary, a.k.a na cs scene in 2020 before valorant
they are still getting salaries a lot of the time even if they're lower than tier1 but i can promise you gc is not getting more money than t2
I still feel like riot won't lose a ton if they pay more for an ascension event
they definitely should but its not a one or another thing, i think all of riots esports scenes should have more investment because its good for the competitors
