fortnite, cod, halo, kinda OW, kinda RL

these are all small compared to larger esport titles like CSGO and League, but you must consider the fact that NA has only a population of around 580 Million, while countries like China and India have over 1 billion, and the entirety of Euroasia makes up half of the world population. Korea only has around 70 million (SK) but theyre just built different . the potential for more talent is increased with more population

Lol, what a ridiculous argument. So why Brazil with half of NA population and 1000x less opportunities and investments was able to win two majors on CS while NA just won one?

It's cultural, Americans can't stand to lose, they left where they are a losing and try to find a place where they can dominate.

average people in brazil and EU grew up with CS and average people in NA were playing sports games, cod, fortnite, halo, and gta

Or you just have a larger CS playerbase.

Two reasons:

  • Consoles
  • COD

America latched onto console gaming early and it became the preferred medium here. This is before esports had any sort of international stage/appeal. Because of that, console releases dominated gaming culture here, and COD is a perfect example.

Then consider that each region basically has a dominant preferred "realistic" FPS game. For EU, BR, and CIS, it's always been CS. In America, even now, it's still COD. My friends never asked me to play CS when I was a kid, it was always COD, and always on console. I think a lot of other Americans would say the same.

Considering how it's never been popular in America, it's actually kind of a miracle that a majority-US roster won a CS Major. I feel like Valorant is more popular in NA now than CS ever was.

agree with you, that's also why Asia looks bad in csgo because there are other fps (CF, Sudden attack, PB) which are more dominating than csgo in the region. Look at pubg which is also popular in Asia, the Asian team is the top tier not inferior to EU/NA.

Honestly, I didn't think about that. Most of my friends until college played on PS or Xbox and I didnt know competitive games until I got a pc. Console culture just was not that competitive. I can't speak about how EU gaming was, but I always imagined internet cafés where everyone was a sweaty CS try hard, sounded like heaven to me in high school.

+it is not possible to play game on Nokia 3310 as it is a cellphone, it costs around 20$
+every child owned a cheap phone such as redmi note 8 or samsung a31, it costs around 150$, which is very cheap compared to an iphone but still works
+no one had access to PC gaming
