Gambit has been part of same EMEA family from the start. Anyone who at any point has said otherwise is just delusional. They literally fight for same spots and scrim against each other all the time. Just like Turkey. Also NA likes to call Gambit EU the moment Gambit is losing, but when Gambit is winning its not EU anymore.

80% of the Russian population lives in the geographically European part of Russia in the west. Technically they compete in CIS and are part of EMEA but calling them EU is not really inaccurate. Nevertheless when 100T beat Gambit, I saw no shortage of uncultured NA kids spamming "EU kekw" or "NA > EU", but the second Gambit start winning dominantly and look like favorites to win the title, all of a sudden the NA kids call them EMEA.

I’ve always been in the “Gambit is EMEA and CIS but not EU” camp and no amount of good/bad performance will change my opinion. Can’t say the same for some NA and EU kids though, who seem to put gambit and SMB in whatever region they want to shit on/brag about...

The terminology Riot uses is just stupid, I just call EU to teams that play in "EU qualifiers" and CIS, I mean Europe by EU not only Western Europe as Riot does. Also EMEA(Europe Middle East and Asia) is kinda of a stupid term and honestly it should only be used for LCQ since it is the only tournament where an arabic teams gets slot.

They are not lol, 80% of RUssia including Gambit lives in Europe (Continent), they speak an Indo-European/Slavic language like 99% of Europe, how tf are they distinct from EU? Also BR is not distintct from LATAM, riot terminollogy is wrong again, LATAM = Latin America means countries in America that speak a Latin Language (spanish, portuguese, french, italian etc) and Brazil is a Latin American country, they are their own region because of player base, fan base and basically the vierwership they bring, just money. They should call it Hispanic America instead of LATAM (yes i know there are non spanish speaking countries allowed to take place in LATAM qualifiers but the official stream is in spanish + all the teams are from hispanic countries)

Region lock rules, read them. 3 players from CIS->you play in CIS, the exceptions are possible only if the org is non-cis or the players have double nationality (axsor has 3 Russians who left Russia+ 2 Russians currently living in Russia but they play in CIS instead of EU because they have Russian passports as well so they can choose)
