The later you get the points, more value the points have. It means Masters 3 points > Masters 2 points > Masters 1 (In case 2 or more teams draw at number of points)
the reason? try to imagine, for example, Acend (Because we're talking about Acend). Acend won the EU Master 1, in Master 2 they failed at Europe Stage 2 Challengers 2, in Master 3 they were in 5th-8th (275). the team has been pretty stable so far this year, or throughout this year's Valorant Champions Tour.
while G2, in Master 1, they failed to qualify for Master 1. in Master 2, they failed the same as Acend in Europe Stage 2 Challengers 2. while in Master 3, G2 were already in the semifinals, if they went to the final, and they lost, G2 got 375.
and, if Riot decides that G2 deserves more to qualify for the Valorant Champions than Acend, I find that very odd. ostensibly, you don't need to perform well or well throughout the year, you just need to be second in the final tournament (Master 3) to qualify straight for the Valorant Champions.
